Samantha Potenciano MSN, AGANP-BC

I want to care for my patients the same way I want my family to be cared for; hence it all begins with listening with an open mind and heart.

Sam is compassionate and caring as she provides quality care to her patients. Her career began with a desire to help others and enable people to live healthy lives. Her decision to pursue gastroenterology was influenced by her first-hand experience with her grandmother’s colon cancer diagnosis. Her own personal health issues with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease allow her to bring a depth of empathy and understanding to her patients’ individualized needs using her medical knowledge. Sam understands the importance of empathy in the practice of medicine, which allows her to understand the needs of each individual patient.

Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2009 in the Philippines. After years of experience as a critical care nurse, she completed her Master’s in Nursing with an Emphasis in Adult-Gerontology in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at Grand Canyon University in 2022. She has been nominated twice for the Nurse of Achievement Award and is an amalgam of many other accolades. You can find her at the dog park with her two dogs, crafting new recipes with her husband, or spending time with family when she’s not in the office. She leads an active and well-traveled lifestyle, meticulously planning her next adventure.

Additionally, Sam enriches her community by fostering individuals with developmental disabilities. She provides them with opportunities to enhance their independence and participate in meaningful activities that improve their quality of life through purposeful social interactions, education, recreation, and leisure activities. Sam strives to bring the highest quality of care to her patient. She says, “I want to care for my patients the same way I want my family to be cared for; hence it all begins with listening with an open mind and heart” while educating and bringing her expertise, allowing her patients to make informed decisions. She brings professionalism, care, respect for faith and culture, and experienced and exacting knowledge.

I want to care for my patients the same way I want my family to be cared for; hence it all begins with listening with an open mind and heart.
