Sam M. Nourani, M.S., M.D. has a thirst for knowledge. He has been involved in some form of higher education (learning, teaching, or mentoring) for the past 25 years. He began his education at the University of California Riverside, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry. He continued on at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where he earned both a Master’s degree in Physiology and his Medical Doctorate.
At Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California, he studied Internal Medicine, and he was involved in a large research study on hepatitis C. After that, he says he became “fascinated with liver diseases,” which led him to choose gastroenterology as his specialty. In 2008, he spent a year learning advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
